BIO:

 

Catherine Mahoney, WHS, MoWS, TWS, BOMH:  BS in Art Education.  Using a variety of painting mediums, in an Impressionistic “en plein aire” style, Catherine strives to project the marriage of image and story.  Having been an fine artist , a public or private art instructor for 50 years and an illustrator of children’s books, for the past 10 years, she is honored to be part of Fine Art of Missouri.. She is very excited to offer her giclee prints from her three published, fully watercolor illustrated, character-building, children’s books, “Daisy & Digger”,  and “What Makes Ossie Specia, by Kathy Meyer and If Only I Could Bark by Debra Weingarth. Catherine is a board member of Missouri Watercolor Society and recipient of many regional and national awards. Her work may be seen in Best of Watercolor: Texture and is published in Guild Source Books. Hermann Area District Hospital, Wearable Art Fashion Show and Luncheon, Saturday, March 21st, 10 am-2 pm, Hermann Hill Village, Featuring a raffle, auction, vendors, gourmet food and one-of-a-kind couture.  Using a variety of painting mediums, in an Impressionistic “en plein aire” style, Catherine introduces her first en plein air painting in the form of wearable art inspired by her Italian en plein air painting in San Gimianno, 2013.  She is very excited to offer this departure from the norm.  Tickets are $25/ea.  Call: 573-486-2041.

Thank you, judge, Danielle Langdon, Assistant Professor of Art atColumbia College, for selecting my artwork, Weingarth Farm Mark V, for the annual Women in the Arts exhibit. Over 125 artworks from women artists all over the country were viewed and about 25 were selected. This year the exhibit features a diverse group of artists working in a variety of media including printmaking, painting, photography, sculpture and fibers. Please join in the celebration of the selected artists at the Women in the Arts reception, Thursday, March 12th from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m, The Craft Studio, 518 Hitt Street, N12 Memorial Union, Missouri University,Columbia, MO. You can enjoy live music, food and of course, wonderful art!

Third Event:  2nd Annual, Augusta Plein Air Art Festival Exhibit, Green Door Art Gallery, 21 N Gore Ave, (314) 402-1959, Webster Groves, MO, 63119.  Reception is March 13, 5-9 pm.  There will be a taste of plein air paintings by many artists, as well as, a taste of food and drink from some of Augusta’s businesses.  Everyone is welcome!
